This dude, Boyan Slat, is working with researchers on a concept that could siphon the multitude of plastic debris out of the oceans. I find it especially intriguing because he is aiming for an automated, wildlife-safe, emissions-free system of booms and stationary collection areas. If the feasibility study goes smoothly, and this project gets launched, we could be seeing cleaner oceans soon. And hopefully, a good example of ingenuity and earth-friendly solutions.
